Circulation notices via text message

We now offer text messaging for library notices. This is the fastest way to receive these kinds of notices, since email notices are sent in batches once a day, while texts are sent as soon as the notice is generated. The following text message notices are included in the program:

  • Courtesy notices for items that are coming due
  • Overdue items
  • Hold/Pick up items

Patrons can ‘opt in’ to the service by signing into their My Library Account and clicking on the ‘Modify My Info’ icon.

Enter your mobile device information and click the Opt In box. For more information, please read the Terms and Conditions

Click the submit button to finish your registration.

Renewing via text message

You can renew books via text message. You must have opted in to the service (as above) first. You can reply to a courtesy notice or overdue notice sent to your cell phone, or send a message directly to the library's short code phone number (35143) with the text renew to renew all eligible items on your account (use My Library Account to renew individual items). You will receive one of two responses:

  • At least one item was renewed successfully.
  • None of the patron's items were renewed.

Check My Library Account to view all materials checked out to you, due dates, renewal options, awaiting materials you have requested, and any fines you may have.
