Research and scholarship is at the core of Virginia Tech’s mission. The University Libraries, in partnership with the Provost's Office, the Office of the Vice President for Research, and Virginia Tech's Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, are co-sponsoring and coordinating the seventh annual Virginia Tech Authors Day to honor the authors' academic contributions to the university. The occasion is celebrated every spring in Newman Library, with a program that introduces the authors, and stages a display of their publications. A reception follows a book talk by one or two selected authors.
In this connection, we request your assistance in obtaining a list of books (including ebooks and other creative productions, but not journal articles or book chapters) that you have authored/co-authored, edited, or produced, that have a publication date of 2014. Kindly send your name and a list of your publications to Lori Lee, secretary in the University Libraries' Research and Instructional Services Department, for inclusion in this event. We request that you respond by Friday, January 16, 2015, to allow library staff sufficient time to compile the list and where possible secure copies of the publications not already in our collections.
Through this program, the University Libraries proudly supports Virginia Tech authors, as they share their successes in scholarship, creative thought and professional achievements through published works.
