In this work many different historians try to interpret American history since 1945. On some basic facts all agree. The major events are all here: the Cold War, the Civil Rights movement, the War on Poverty, the space program, the Vietnam War, the feminist movement, Watergate, the rise of suburbs, and the influence of television. Most historians will agree that these are important and significant factors in understanding the last half of the twentieth century.
