RILM Abstracts of Music Literature is a comprehensive music bibliography featuring citations, abstracts, and subject indexing. It provides broad coverage in categories like hip hop to Händel, ethnomusicology to music therapy, elementary music education to advanced music theory. RILM’s coverage spans 1967 to the present. Types of publications and media covered by RILM include collections of essays, conference proceedings, critical editions of music, digital media, dissertations, journal articles, monographs, online resources, reference materials, reviews, and technical drawings of instruments. Sound recordings and motion pictures that present the results of scholarly research of fieldwork are also included. An increasing number of records also feature abstracts in the language of publication. Roman and non-roman scripts are represented in RILM.
