Download ebrary ebooks

You can download to a computer or supported mobile device. Most ebrary ebooks will download for up to 14 days (then the file expires). Look for the download link on the Detail Page or inside the Online Reader.

Like all ebook platforms that track and restrict usage, ebrary requires you to sign in to a profile/account. You can create a free account anytime. You will need Adobe Digital Editions to download ebooks to your laptop or desktop. This free software is different from Adobe Reader.(Adobe Digital Editions will store your downloaded ebooks, display when they expire, and allow you to add bookmarks.) See the "Getting started with Adobe Digital Editions" document that installs with ADE for more information.

A free Adobe ID is also required to transfer the ebook to another device. It is NOT required to read ebooks on your single computer.

Download to a desktop or laptop computer

  1. Select the device to download to (Laptop/Desktop)
  2. Install Adobe Digital Editions if you have already done so. This software will connect the download file to your account for the duration of the download.
  3. Download the ebook. It should automatically open with Adobe Digital Editions.

Downloading to a mobile device

iOS and Android devices are support. You will need to install the free Bluefire Reader app (from the App Store or Google Play).

  1. Select the mobile device you are using
  2. Install the Bluefire Reader if you have not already done so
  3. Download the ebook. It should open in the Bluefire Reader

Downloading chapters, page ranges, or entire ebooks require you to sign in to your personal ebrary profile. You can create one online.

You may create image PDFs of specific chapters and page ranges that have no rights restrictions and do not expire.

You can also download up to 10 entire ebooks at a time. Downloads expire in 14 days.
