  • America's Job Bank is a partnership between the US Department of Labor and the state operated public Employment Service. Goal: to bring employers and job seekers together

  • Dictionary of Occupational Titles - revised fourth edition, as supplied electronically by the US Dept. of Labor, provided as a public service.
  • Occupational Outlook Handbook - from the U.S., Bureau of Labor Statistics, revised fourth edition, provides detailed information about job titles, requirements, responsibilities, etc.

  • Chronicle of Higher Education Almanac, 2004-2005 - The almanac is filled with national and state-by-state data on colleges and universities and their students, faculty and staff members, and finances.

  • Study Abroad for college level international education programs

Financial Aid/Grants:

The Funding Opportunities Resource, Virginia Tech's Office of Program Development, Research and Graduate Studies, provides information on research opportunity funding. This site offers links to a wide range of funding resources including Alert Services, Databases, Federal Sponsors, Foundations, Fellowships and the Academic Research Information System (ARIS).
  • FinAid - an annotated collection of information about student financial aid on the web.
  • Pell Grants are for students who have not earned a bachelor's or professional degree
  • A research guide entitled "Research Grants and Proposal Writing" is available from the pamphlet rack near the 1st and 4th floor(Torgersen Tower) reference desks in Newman Library.
