Conference proceedings online

Conference proceedings are publications that can include minutes, transcripts, papers, and presentations generated at or for a conference. Papers within the proceedings will be indexes by subject-specific databases, while the proceedings publication, often in book form, will be listed in library catalogs. The Virginia Tech libraries own many conference proceedings, either physically or through online sources; each of these will be listed in Addison. Papers in proceedings not owned locally can be requested through interlibrary loan.

The results are recorded in the Proceedings of its Symposia, in its Transactions A and B, and in its Highlights of Astronomy that contains the Proceedings of Joint Discussions held at the triennial General Assemblies of the IAU. Subjects covered by the IAU conferences are fundamental astronomy; the sun and heliosphere; planetary systems, stars; interstellar matter; the galactic system; galaxies and the universe; optical and infrared techniques; radio astronomy; and space and high-energy astrophysics. Proceedings online begin in 2004.

  • The Science & Technology edition covers the conference literature in all scientific and technical fields, including agriculture and environmental sciences, biochemistry and molecular biology, biotechnology, medicine, engineering, computer science, chemistry, and physics.
  • The Social Sciences and Humanities edition covers the conference literature in all fields of social sciences, arts, and humanities, including psychology, sociology, public health, management, economics, art, history, literature, and philosophy.

SPIE (International Society for Optical Engineering) Proceedings

The Proceedings of SPIE comprise more than 5500 volumes from conferences sponsored or cosponsored by SPIE since 1963.
