The University Libraries, in partnership with the Provost's Office, the Office of the Vice President for Research, and Virginia Tech's chapter of Phi Beta Kappa are sponsoring the eighth annual Virginia Tech Authors Day to honor the authors' academic contributions to the university. A compiled list is displayed online.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, February 21, 2013, at 4:30pm in Newman Library's first floor area, up the ramp from the study café. The occasion will be marked by an introduction of the authors, remarks by the sponsors, a display of representative books, and a presentation by Mark Barrow, College of Liberal Arts and Human Science, who will discuss the book for which he was awarded Phi Beta Kappa's 2012 Albert L. Sturm Award for Excellence in Faculty Research. A reception will follow.
