Faculty Authors Recognition
The University Libraries, in partnership with the Provost's Office and the Office of the Vice President for Research is co-sponsoring and coordinating the third annual Virginia Tech Authors Day to acknowledge and honor their academic contributions to the university. The occasion will be marked by an introduction of the authors and an exhibition of their books, to be followed by a reception. The event is scheduled for Thursday, February 28, 2008, at 4:30 p.m. in Newman Library. Please save this date, formal invitations with details of the event location and program will be mailed in early January, 2008.
In this connection, we would like to solicit your assistance in obtaining a list of names of members of your department who have authored/co-authored or edited books with publication dates of 2006 and 2007. Kindly request your faculty to send their names and a list of their publications to Lori Lee, secretary in the University Libraries Research and Instructional Services Department, for inclusion in this event. We request that the faculty authors respond by Friday December 14, 2007 to allow library staff sufficient time to compile the list and procure copies of the publications if they are not already in our collections. Please check the current list of authors supplied to Ms. Lee to see if your publication is listed.
