WilsonWeb

WilsonWeb’s SDI (Selective Dissemination of Information) service allows the users of WilsonWeb databases to save searches, scheduling them to be rerun automatically, with the latest results emailed. A search can be saved and then an alert created for that search which can be emailed on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis to the user. At any time the user can modify the alert settings, delete the alert, or start a new alert.

You can set up an SDI Alert in two places

Search results page
On the Search Results page you will notice a Create Alert icon and link, located on the top left of the search results screen, right next to the Modify Search button.
Click on the Create Alert link and then follow the instructions for those search results.
Search history pahe
The second place to setup an SDI Alert is on the Search History page. Click on the Search History button found near the top/bottom of the screen. The Search History page records the searches being conducted during the current session, and/or searches that have been previously saved and then retrieved, having been moved into the active search area of the page.
For each search string visible on this page, you can create an SDI Alert by clicking on the Setup Alert link in the Setup in the Action column. Then follow the instructions.

Note that you will be emailed a notice that you have setup an Alert. You must then confirm your email address to complete the process, indicating that you are the one that has created the Alert being sent to your email address.

How to update alerts and delete alerts

After activating your Alert, a notice screen appears, Your Search Alert has been Activated Successfully. Or, the next time you receive an Alert email, you will find Update Alert and Delete Alert links at the bottom of these pages. Select the appropriate link and follow the easy instructions.

After you have received an alert...

Once you are 'alerted' to the existence of a journal issue or article, search the Journal Title Database to see if the journal issue is available online or physically in the library. For journal articles not owned locally or available electronically, submit a request through ILLiad.
