College Librarian assignments | Agriculture & Life Science | Architecture & Urban Studies | Business | Engineering | Liberal Arts & Human Sciences | Natural Resources | Science | Veterinary Medicine | Additional subject contacts
Since 1994, College Librarians have provided the faculty, staff and students of each of Virginia Tech's colleges with information services tailored to the needs of each constituent group. These librarians serve their colleges by such things as:
- Purchasing materials - books, videos, serials, databases - in support of the college;
- Providing subject specific research;
- Helping design realistic assignments that will deepen and test discipline-specific information skills;
- Teaching information skills sessions;
- Leading or arranging tours of the libraries; and
- Assisting with distance education classes.
College Librarians have served on departmental committees, partnered with faculty in grants and research, assisted graduate degree candidates with literature reviews, and prepared class-specific web pages. For additional information, see the College Librarian and Subject Liaison page.
See the Bibliography of articles regarding Virginia Tech's College Librarian Program for more information about the program.
