Gale Artemis: Primary Sources -- Working with Documents

Gale Artemis: Primary Sources unifies the most valuable scholarly collection of primary source materials available into one comprehensive research experience. This video describes the document tools you'll find in Artemis, like the citation generator, email and download features, and more.

Once you’ve found the document you’re interested in from the results page click

the document title. You’ll find the article as it appeared in

its original print form. You’ll find details on the document including the document title,

pages included and source. Click the arrows to page forward and backward

through the document or enter a page number and click “Go.”

Click the magnifying glass icons to enlarge or shrink the page image or select the degree

of magnification from the pull-down menu. If you hover the mouse over the page image,

the pointer changes to a hand icon. You can move the page image by clicking anywhere on

the image and then dragging... or you can also use the scroll bars to move

around the page. You may find that some page images are oriented

sideways. You can rotate the page image by clicking the “Rotate” button.

Click the “Brightness/Contrast” icon adjust the image to adjust the image brightness and

Click the folder icon to save the item in your personal folder. You can access your

Click the Bookmark icon to generate a bookmark URL that you can copy-and-paste into an LMS

For each document you’ll find the Full citation… including the number of pages, microfilm reel
