In this tutorial, you'll learn how a personal account can help you get the most out of IEEE Xplore.
To set up your free personal account, select Sign In from the MySettings tab.
A personal account in IEEE Xplore will allow you to:
If you do not have a personal account, click the Register Now button and follow the onscreen prompts to complete the process. If you are an IEEE member, you can use your member web account.
Once you have signed in with your personal account, you'll see your name in the Subscription Module.
You can see details about your subscription by clicking on What can I access?
To set your search preferences, click on the Preference link directly under the global search box.
Here you can set preferences for the publishers you want searched, display options for search results, as well as e-mail settings.
Once you are done, click update to save your preferences.
A personal account in IEEE Xplore lets you sign up for a variety of content alerts—keeping you up-to-date on the latest technology research.
To set these alerts, go to MySettings and select Alerts.
On this page, you'll see tabs for Journals & Magazines, Conferences, and Standards by Version.
To set an alert for a journal or magazine, click the box next to the publication title and hit update. Each time a journal or magazine is published you will receive an e-mail with a direct link to the latest issue's table of contents in IEEE Xplore.
You can also sign up for RSS feeds to stay up-to-date on IEEE Xplore content.
To receive weekly updates on any new conference loaded into IEEE Xplore, go to the Conference tab, check the box and hit update.
Additionally, if you know the number of a standard set, you can go to the Standards by Version tab and select to receive updates about any changes to that standard group.
To see alerts for saved searches, click on the orange button to the right. Learn more about these in the Saving Searches tutorial.
