State government GIS information
Increasingly states are putting their Geospatial data on the web for easier and more widespread access. This data may be of any format or type, but Arcview or Arcinfo formats are most common.
- Arizona - this is the main page for the Arizona State Land Department. The metadata data and data request forms are on the the (ALRIS) The Arizona Land Resource Information Systempage.
- Delaware - Delaware Geological Survey, The program of the Delaware Geological Survey, includes research, exploration, and service in accordance with the statute founding the unit in 1951.
- Idaho - Idaho Department of Lands (IDL). The IDL-GIS site is a clearinghouse for Idaho GIS data and a service to State, Federal, Private, and Public groups or individuals needing a source of GIS data.
- Indiana - Indiana Geological Survey, the IGS part of this web site will soon feature GIS based interactive maps.
- Mississippi - (Maris-The Mississippi Automated Information System) is the State government coordinating body. It is also the repository of over 80 GIS coverages, with metadata, data dictionary, etc. All data is free.
- Montana - Digital mapping products are available for downloading via FTP.
- Nevada - Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology, Geologic and geographic information activities include production; implementation and development of statewide geographic information systems and the digital maps.
- New Jersey - Geological Survey, maps and reports are available to the public in printed and digital format through the DEP Maps and Publications Office and via electronic transfer from our Digital Geodata Archive.
- Oregon - The SSCGIS (State Service Center for GIS), coordinates GIS activities in the state and maintains the Oregon Spatial Data Library.
- Utah - Utah Geological Survey, this site contains many Gis related datasets and other maps/publications.
- Vermont - Vermont Geographic Information System (VGIS). At this website you can obtain free public GIS data, network with the Vermont GIS community, become aware of GIS activities in Vermont, obtain technical information on GIS related technologies, and otherwise educate yourself on Vermont GIS.

- WVDEP (West Virginia Division of Environmental Protection) - Largest archive of digital spatial data available for West Virginia.
- WVGES (West Virginia Geological & Economic Survey) - This site offers lot of Geological information and data services.
