For most loans (books or media), there is no way to predict the amount of time it will take from the time a request is placed to when the item is received at Interlibray Loan.
Loans for books and media materials coming from lenders in the state of Virginia generally take less time to receive than those coming from out of state. On average, many materials are received within two weeks of when a request is placed.
Delivery times can be a few days longer from late November to early January due to holiday mail delays that coincide with increased end-of-semester workloads at the lending libraries. In fact, many libraries do not lend at all during the Christmas and New Year's holidays.
Articles, which are primarily transmitted and delivered electronically, take much less time to receive.
If you have an emergency need for an article or book, please contact ILL for assistance.
