ERIC documents

The Education Resources Information Center (ERIC), sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, produces the world’s premier database of journal and non-journal education literature, containing more than 1.2 million citations going back to 1966. While more than 107,000 full-text non-journal documents issued from 1993 to the present are freely available in the database, many are not.

The ERIC database includes documents identified by 6-digit ED numbers and EJ numbers.

  • EJ items are journal articles; example EJ1083231. Many of these journal titles are in the library's collection, and can be searched in the Journal Title Database.
  • ED items are mainly stand-alone documents and reports; example ED557571.

Submit an ILLiad request and provide as much information as possible, especially the ERIC identifier.
