Standards

Industry standards are not usually available on loan from other libraries. Instead, they must be purchased from the organization that issues the standard, or from a commercial document supplier that specializes in acquiring standards.

You can obtain technical standards through ILLiad subject to the following conditions:

• We will order industry standards for faculty and graduate students without charge, providing the standard costs less than $300, with a limit of $500 for total expenditures for a single individual, per calendar year.
• Standards to be placed on RESERVE in the library and RUSH requests should be ordered through Larry Thompson, the College Librarian for Engineering.

Requesting a standard

Please log on to ILLiad and select Request a Standard from the left menu.

We need the following information about the standard you want:

• Standard number
• Complete title

You can find this information about the standard you need by searching the standards database maintained by IHS/Global, the world's leading distributor of standards and other technical documents. See also our guide to finding standards.
