More electrical outlets.
We have attempted to address the problem of more outlets for laptops. This past summer we wired the 2nd floor commons area to accommodate more students and laptops knowing that groups of students would be using the area to work in groups. We also retrofitted a large number of the student study tables to accommodate 4 laptops at one time. These tables are located on the 2nd and 4th floors. It is difficult and expensive to retrofit an older building to meet growing demands for more and more outlets and modern technology. As our budget will allow we plan to increase the number of tables to accommodate more laptops on the other floors.

I am sorry, but we have access to that source through LexisNexis Academic and Factiva. Given our ongoing budget constraints we can not afford to duplicate in paper what we can assess online.

I would like to express my gratitude for the help David Beagle provided on Endnote last week. He was extremely helpful and patient. I appreciate his one-on-one attention to my particular concerns.
Thank you, for your comment about Dave. It is always nice to hear from a student about how they have been helped by one of our staff.

Is there any way that you can provide a microwave for students to use to heat up our lunches in this building? Thanks.
Sorry,we don't have any type of separate room facility which would be required to provide for that type of operation. Once the cafe/study lounge is operational, the vendor may provide that service.

Closing the Torg bridge/Library entrance after 5 PM is the worst idea anyone could have. I am very disappointed that the people in charge made such a horrible decision. Please open the door back up, because it's the right thing to do. Thank you.
I am sorry that you are inconvenienced by the closing of the Torg bridge/Library entrance after 5 PM. It was strictly a cost saving decision. Not having to staff the security gate at that entrance to the Library saves us over 50 hours of staff time each week. That frees up people that can be put to better use elsewhere in the Library.
