Jan. 8, 2009 – The University Libraries, in partnership with the Provost's Office and the Office of the Vice President for Research is co-sponsoring and coordinating the fourth annual Virginia Tech Authors Day to acknowledge and honor their academic contributions to the university. The occasion will be marked by an introduction of the authors, a display of a number of representative books, and a short program to be followed by a reception. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at 4:30pm in Newman Library.

We would like to solicit your assistance in obtaining a list of names of Virginia Tech faculty who have authored/co-authored or edited books with publication dates of 2007 and 2008. Please send names and lists of publications to Lori Lee, secretary in the University Libraries Research and Instructional Services department, for inclusion in the event.

We request that faculty authors respond by Friday, January 23, 2009, to allow library staff sufficient time to compile the list and where possible procure copies of publications not already in our collections.
