March 31, 2010 – The checkout period for bound journals in Newman Library has been extended from three days to seven days. (Bound journals from the Storage Facility still checkout for 21 days; bound journals from the branches may have different checkout periods.)
This extended period should make using bound journals more convenient. You will have extra time to photocopy articles outside the library (such as with your departmental photocopier) or to scan an article on your personal equipment.
Current (unbound) journals do not circulate; they must be used in the library.
Fines for overdue bound journals from Newman remain at $5/day and journals cannot be renewed, so be sure to return them on time.
Borrowing privileges for all the different kinds of patrons (undergrads, faculty, etc.) are listed online. The tables include checkout periods for different types of materials, whether these materials can be renewed, the maximum number of materials that can be checked out, and any fines for these items becoming overdue.
