Jan. 20, 2011 – The University Libraries are long time subscribers to electronic journal packages from Wiley Interscience and Blackwell Synergy, providing access to electronic journal titles in social sciences, science, technology, and health.
Beginning January 2011, VIVA (the Virtual Library of Virginia) has licensed the Wiley Online Library Full Collection of over 1,300 titles including Interscience and Synergy on a single, integrated platform. VIVA and individual libraries pay a portion of the total cost of the package for a “cost share” arrangement. This license, in effect from 2011-2014, will allow Virginia libraries to control inflation costs while still providing access to a large number of high quality journals.
