Aug. 18, 2011 – The wireless network in Newman Library has been upgraded to the latest technology. This service is courtesy of University Libraries and Network Infrastructure and Services.
Students, faculty, and staff with wireless accounts should see increased speed and better handling of the large number of users of the wireless network in the library. We recommend using the VT-Wireless choice over the VT-WLAN choice to avoid time-outs and the need to repeatedly authenticate. Remember that the VT-Wireless network requires a network certificate and those certificate expire after a year, so you may need to delete your expired certificate and install a newly created on. The library does not provide support for connecting to the wireless network, so if you have problems, please contact 4HELP.
