Databases from Africa Knowledge Project now available


   

African Knowledge Project

March 23, 2012 – Three databases from the Africa Knowledge Project index the full text of articles, reports, dissertations, short stories and folktales, plus audio and music files on Africa and the African diaspora.

African Music Database from Africa Knowledge Project provides all types of African music beginning with highlife, traditional cultural groups, popular music, hiplife, and jazz. The growing database will feature music from artists in Africa and the global diaspora. Each work is downloadable in MP3.

Kiswahili Story Database from Africa Knowledge Project provides full-text short stories, folktales, proverbs, and poems in Kiswahili (Swahili) in PDF.

The Biafran War Database from Africa Knowledge Project indexes full-text items from newspapers, photographs, interviews, archival materials, declassified intelligence reports, and theses and dissertations on the Nigerian conflict. Documents available in PDF and audio files as MP3.
