Faculty Week: Material delivery options

Aug. 20, 2014 – Faculty have several options to have library materials delivered (not to mention the enormous amount of materials available online in your office, classroom, home, or travelling).

Desktop Delivery

Faculty (and staff and students) on the Blacksburg campus may request scanned copies of journal articles, book chapters, and papers from conference proceedings from print materials located at Newman, Art + Architecture, and the Vet Med libraries. The scanned files will be delivered in PDF format to your ILLiad account under the Electronic Delivery section, where you will be able to download and/or print the file.

Newman Book Runner

Faculty can use the green request button found next to select available items, and we will go into the stacks for you, find the book you're looking for and deliver it to your department on campus. You have to be part of a department that has opted-in to this service before we can deliver to your campus location.

Request It

If you are not a member of a participating department, you can still use the request button to have materials in Newman Library or the Blacksburg branches pulled and held for you at the Circulation desk. Items are retrieved three times a day during the week and twice each weekend day. Materials delivered between branches should be ready the next business day. To have materials delivered from the Northern Virginia Center to Blacksburg, use ILLiad.
