Googled yourself lately? Professionals, researchers, and scholars are often expected to develop an online identity in order to participate in professional networks and promote their work. However, with countless tools and options available, crafting an online identity can seem confusing and even a little dangerous! Join us as we discuss reasons, tools, and strategies for creating a cohesive, scholarly presence online. We will explore social networking sites like LinkedIn and Twitter, easy web authoring tools, and Virginia Tech’s institutional repository. Additionally, we'll discuss using altmetrics and demonstrate tools such as ORCID, ImpactStory, and Figshare to consider new ways of assessing your scholarly impact.

Networked Learning Initiative workshops are free and open to Virginia Tech faculty, staff and graduate students.
