Port reservation form

This form is for reserving Port, the library’s digital research commons, in 3320 Torgerson, at the library end of the Bridge. Intended primarily for graduate students and faculty to explore diverse modes of data analysis and knowledge production in digital humanities and e-science, Port operates mostly on a walk-in basis; first come, first served. However, Port may be reserved for two-hour periods, as for project meetings, small-group collaboration, and one-on-one consultation or instruction.

Port comprises two spaces, either of which can be reserved: a lab area with eight computers with a variety of software not widely available elsewhere on campus, and a consulting and collaboration area with several small tables seating groups of two to six.

Requests should be made as far in advance as possible – at least two business days – in order for us to give fair notice to walk-in users through signage in Port and at its door. Requests requiring permanent installation of software or sample files will require at least two weeks to set up.

Reservations can be scheduled only for times Port is open. Port is closed whenever Newman Library is closed; please check the current semester schedule.

Your request will be confirmed through email or by phone.
