The mission of Records Management Services is to promote efficient and economic management of public records for Virginia Tech. This is done in the following ways:
- Assign retention codes for records that need to be retained for a finite period of time.
- In accordance with state guidelines, we can destroy large volumes of your confidential records in our industrial-size shredder.
- The Records Storage Facility is capable of storing over 19,000 boxes of records. Records Management Services also provides off-site storage of computer / electronic back-up data in a secure, fire-resistant vault.
