Newman Library has lots of people ready to provide you assistance, in person, online, or by phone.
- Circulation desk
- Located on the second floor of Newman Library near Alumni Mall and Kent Street, Circulation staff are responsible for the lending and return of library, reserve, and interlibrary loan materials. This is also where you can check out DVDs, CDs, and electronic equipment.
- Reference desk
- Also located on the second floor, Reference assistance is available for individual assistance when you need help with research or using the libraries. They can help you use our various electronic and print resources to find the books, articles, or facts you need for your research.
- Peer Roving Assistants
- Peer Roving Assistants can be found in the Commons and around the stacks of Newman Library and can assist you with locating materials in the stacks or with our photocopy equipment.
- College Librarians
- College Librarians provide the faculty, staff, and students of each of Virginia Tech's colleges with information services tailored to the needs of that group, including purchasing materials, providing subject-specific research, helping design assignments, and assisting with distance education classes.
