Food science and technology
Food science and technology is the study of foods and food processing. It involves microbiology, chemistry, biochemistry, economics, engineering, and nutrition. Virginia Tech's degree and research emphasis is on food safety and microbiology, food and flavor chemistry, food product and package development, and food economics and marketing.
