Geospatial datasets for state of Virginia

  • VGIN (Virginia Geographic Information Network Division) - Mission is to foster the creative utilization of geographic information and oversee the development of a catalog of GIS data available in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Virginia Tech - University Libraries(ICPSR/GIS Server) - Online 7.5' Digital Raster Graphics (DRG) data coverage for the entire state, consisting of clipped TIFF images. This site is restricted to Virginia Tech faculty, students and staff.
  • Radford University (GEOServe) - On-line USGS 7.5' topographic quadrangles for VA, WV, MD, NC, and DC. These are TIFF files that can be opened in graphics programs such as CorelDraw or Adobe Photoshop.
  • Virginia Economic Development Partnership - creates a limited number of GIS data sets in-house.

Thu-Fri, May 16-17: 7:30am - 8:00pm (break hours begin)
Sat-Sun, May 18-19: 9:00am - 6:00pm 

*During 24 hour operation, a valid Hokie Passport is required to access or remain in the library between 12 midnight and 7:30am.
