- VGIN (Virginia Geographic Information Network Division) - Mission is to foster the creative utilization of geographic information and oversee the development of a catalog of GIS data available in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Virginia Tech - University Libraries(ICPSR/GIS Server) - Online 7.5' Digital Raster Graphics (DRG) data coverage for the entire state, consisting of clipped TIFF images. This site is restricted to Virginia Tech faculty, students and staff.
- Radford University (GEOServe) - On-line USGS 7.5' topographic quadrangles for VA, WV, MD, NC, and DC. These are TIFF files that can be opened in graphics programs such as CorelDraw or Adobe Photoshop.
- Virginia Economic Development Partnership - creates a limited number of GIS data sets in-house.
