If the Virginia Tech libraries do not have the material(s) you need for your research, try requesting it through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). This is a free service for you.
Register online (your account will remain with you during your academic tenure at Virginia Tech) - look for First time users.
To request materials, make sure to include as much information as possible to ensure the correct resource is retrieved and sent (e.g. if you need a specific edition of a book, include the ISBN number in the request and mark "no" to the "accepting alternate editions" question in the request)
"Request a photocopy" is for article requests. 95% of the time the articles are delivered to your ILL account electronically. They will be held there for 30 days before an automatic deletion will occur. To retain a copy for future use, save it to your computer or other device (e.g. flash drive).
