These databases provide information about the Virginia state government, particularly laws and legislation. While an increasing amount of Virginia government publications are available online (many are cataloged in Addison), we also have an extensive collection of past publications in our collection. These publications are not divided into a separate collection like federal government documents, so search Addison to find call numbers and locations.

VaStat provides statistics, data sets, and reports on all aspects of life in Virginia. Detailed profiles of counties and cities are provided. Employment and income statistics by area, taxation figures by local governments, population and demographics, industry profiles, and other economic drivers are all detailed in report and data sets.

The Legislative Information System includes general information about the legislative process and its participants as well as the full text, summaries, status history of bills and resolutions and schedules of activity. Full text searching is also available for the Code of Virginia, Virginia Administrative Code, Bills and Resolutions, and House and Senate Documents.
