Are you interested in chemistry or a related field of research? (Such as Materials Science, Biochemistry, Wood Products, Geochemistry, etc.) Learn how to use the SciFinder Scholar database from Chemical Abstracts Service to search journal articles, conference proceedings, and chemical patents. This short introductory course will cover:

• Where to download the necessary client software and how to get connected
• Using the search interfaces for topic, author, and compound searching
• How to refine searches to get more focused results
• How to analyze records on your subject of interest
• How to use the registry file to find property data, commercial suppliers and more
• Overview of the new web interface
