Language Resource Center

The Language Resource Center is located in room 2010 Newman Library. Swipe your Hokie Passport for access. (Patrons without Hokie Passport IDs can no longer access Rosetta Stone.)

Rosetta Stone language learning program now available online

Rosetta Stone offers online instruction in 25 languages, including English as a second language. Start with the Login with CAS link, where you'll create a personal profile to track your progress. Mobile app versions are available as well.

Update on language learning resources available through the libraries

The libraries recently subscribes to the online version of Rosetta Stone, and this has replaced the installed versions available through the Language Resource Center. This online version requires logging in with a PID and password, meaning access by members of the public is no longer possible.

Our subscription to Mango will end on January 31, 2015. However, the Montgomery-Floyd Regional Library (and many other Virginia public library systems) makes Mango available to library card holders. We strongly recommend users of Mango take advantage of this resource.

We also offer a number of Pimsleur audio CDs for learning a variety of languages that can be checked out from the circulation desk.

Additional resources for learning languages are available.
